There is a version of you that exists only here: waiting, changing, and rearranging your life around someone you have not yet met. Pregnancy asks you to hold so much at once: anticipation, tenderness, and the strange intimacy of already loving someone you do not yet know.
Maternity portraits give this fleeting version of you a place to remain. With thoughtful direction, intentional styling, and an editorial eye, I help you feel confident and fully seen in this moment, creating portraits that honor the woman you are, the mother you are becoming, and the family taking shape around you.
You do not need to know how to pose or arrive already feeling confident. That is where my experience comes in. I consider the light, composition, wardrobe, and every subtle adjustment, then guide you with enough precision to create photographs that feel polished, powerful, and still entirely like you.
Because maternity portraits should do more than document a pregnancy. They should recognize the woman, the family gathered around her, and the extraordinary transition already underway. Together, we create something visually striking enough to hold all three—and enduring enough to matter long after this season has passed.
Pregnancy may be the beginning of your child’s story, but this body, this strength, and this transformation are entirely your own. Through intentional light, sculptural composition, and thoughtful direction, I create maternity portraits that place you at the center: powerful, sensual, elegant, and fully yourself.

& Story

Location Shapes the Portrait
With every distraction removed, light, form, and expression take center stage. The studio gives us the freedom to create maternity portraits that feel sculptural, fashion-forward, and entirely focused on you, from refined editorial imagery to optional fine-art nude portraiture.
Your portraits can be transformed into framed artwork and heirloom albums, created to preserve this chapter beyond the screen.

Let's Connect
Maternity sessions are $850 and thoughtfully planned around your vision, location, wardrobe, and the photographs you want to create. Each experience includes creative guidance from our first conversation through the finished gallery.
For families who want to preserve more of the story, Motherhood Collections continue from maternity into newborn and first-year milestones, creating a cohesive record of your family’s earliest chapters.
Share your due date, location, who you would like to include, and the kind of imagery you are drawn to. Whether you are planning maternity alone or considering the Motherhood Collection, we’ll begin shaping the experience together.
Thoughtful, personal, and designed entirely around you.
READY TO BEGIN?
A maternity session can stand beautifully on its own. But if you already know you will want to remember the first days, changing expressions, and milestones that follow, the Motherhood Collection allows us to consider the full story from the beginning.
Maternity, newborn, and first-year sessions are thoughtfully planned as one cohesive body of work, with consistent creative direction and finished artwork designed to preserve not only how your baby changes, but how your family changes alongside them.
Common Concerns

Creating life may happen every day, but there is nothing ordinary about it. Maternity portraits honor the woman at the center of that transformation: the strength required to carry and create life, the grace within days that may not feel graceful, and the woman already rearranging her life around someone she has not yet met. This is not simply a record of your body. It is a portrait of your power and the person you are becoming alongside your child.
AREN’T MATERNITY PORTRAITS JUST ABOUT THE BUMP?

Are maternity portraits really necessary?
The Concern:

Polish does not require transformation. I use thoughtful styling, intentional light, precise direction, and careful retouching to reveal your strongest presence without losing what makes you recognizable. The refinement comes from professional decisions, not from asking you to become someone else. You should see the artistry first, then look more closely and find yourself within every frame.
I WANT SOMETHING ARTFUL AND ELEVATED, BUT I STILL WANT TO RECOGNIZE MYSELF.

We can create both: portraits devoted entirely to you and photographs that hold the family changing alongside you. I intentionally structure the session to give each relationship its place while keeping you at its visual and emotional center. Your partner and children expand the story without moving you to its edges. This remains a portrait of your body, your strength, and your experience of becoming.
I WANT MY FAMILY INCLUDED, BUT I DON’T WANT TO DISAPPEAR FROM MY OWN SESSION.

Refinement comes from preparation, pacing, and a photographer’s discernment, not from expecting perfect behavior. I plan around your child’s age, begin with the portraits that need the most structure, and make room for movement and connection as the session unfolds. Your child is free to be little while I remain attentive to the composition, light, and fleeting expressions that make the finished photographs feel beautifully considered.
I WANT POLISHED FAMILY PORTRAITS, BUT MY YOUNG CHILD MAY HAVE OTHER PLANS.

You do not need to arrive with a finished concept. Bring me what draws you in, whether it is a photograph, a landscape, a fabric, or simply a feeling, and I will translate those instincts into a cohesive creative direction. Together, we’ll consider the setting, wardrobe, light, and composition until the session feels distinctly yours. You bring the desire to create something remarkable; I bring the experience to make it possible.
I WANT SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY, BUT I DON’T KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN.

The Concern:
An individual maternity session preserves this chapter on its own. The Motherhood Collection continues through newborn and first-year milestones, with each session planned as part of one cohesive body of work.
What is the Motherhood Collection?
Yes. Fine-art nude and partially draped portraits are available for clients drawn to sculptural, elegant, body-focused imagery, but they are never expected. Your privacy remains entirely yours, and only photographs you specifically approve will ever be shared.
Do you offer fine-art nude maternity portraits?
Sessions may be created in a rented studio, a thoughtfully chosen landscape, or as part of a destination experience. I’ll help you explore options throughout Maryland, Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and beyond based on light, privacy, season, and artistic vision.
Where can maternity sessions take place?
Absolutely. Your session can include portraits centered entirely on you as well as photographs with your partner or children. When little ones are involved, I plan the pacing around their ages to create polished portraits alongside genuine movement and connection.
Can my partner and children be included?
Wardrobe is considered as part of the complete artistic direction. I’ll help you select or source pieces that complement your body, setting, and creative vision, with access to my client closet for additional options.
What should I wear for maternity photos?
I recommend reaching three to six months ahead (2nd trimester), so we have time to plan the location, wardrobe, and creative direction. Most maternity sessions take place between 28 and 34 weeks, adjusted for your pregnancy and how you are feeling.
When should I book and photograph my maternity session?
