A few times each year, I offer 15-minute portrait sessions at carefully selected Maryland locations. The setting, timing, and creative direction are planned in advance, giving you a refined update to your family photographs in a beautifully simple format.

why the format works
Mini sessions are offered on select seasonal dates throughout the year. I plan the location, timing, light, and creative direction in advance, so in 15 minutes we can create a polished update to your family portraits without building a custom session from the ground up.
I’ll guide you through classic portraits and natural interaction, focusing on the photographs that matter most.

All three are photographed with the same Silver Orchard approach and finishing. The difference is how much time we have together, when and where the session can take place, and how much of the experience is designed specifically around your family.

SIGNATURE SESSIONS
Available throughout the year exclusively at Schooley Mill Park in Highland, Maryland. Choose 15 finished photographs from your gallery, with the option to purchase additional images or the full gallery.
30 MINUTES · $500 · 15 PHOTOGRAPHS
THE DEMI SESSION
A fully customized portrait experience with your choice of date and location, styling guidance, Client Closet access, and creative direction. Your complete finished gallery is included, with no set image limit.
90 MINUTES · $850 · FULL GALLERY
SIGNATURE SESSION
Mini Session dates are released to my email list first, giving you early access to booking before they’re announced publicly. For limited seasonal windows like cherry blossoms, lavender, and fall color, that means first choice of dates and the most sought-after session times.

don’t miss your favorite season
Every Mini Session has a designated rain date. Because each event is planned around a particular season and setting, you’ll find the specific weather and rescheduling details on that Mini Session’s booking page.
What happens if it rains?
Arriving 15–20 minutes early can help, especially if your child benefits from watching another family go first. If you know they typically need more time to feel comfortable, a Demi or Signature Session may give your family the extra breathing room they need.
What if my child needs more time to warm up?
Absolutely. Your session includes five photographs you select from all available images in your gallery. Additional photographs may be purchased individually, or upgrade to the full gallery for $250. Pre-purchase the full gallery when booking and it’s $200, a $50 savings.
Can I purchase more than five photographs?
Every Mini includes an extensive mood board with shoppable inspiration to make planning easy for busy families. An optional styling consultation is also included if you’d like more personalized help coordinating your family’s wardrobe.
What should we wear?
Mini Sessions take place only on predetermined seasonal dates and locations. If you need a different date, Demi Sessions are available year-round at Schooley Mill Park, while Signature Sessions allow us to customize both the date and location.
Can I choose my date or location?
Mini Sessions are designed for families who want a quick update between larger portrait sessions. In 15 minutes, we can focus on the full family, just the children, or a small number of simple groupings. Larger families or sessions requiring several combinations are better suited to a Signature Session.

As a mother myself, I know children rarely arrive ready to perform on cue. I work quickly, read personalities, and adjust as we go, whether that means giving a toddler a little movement, winning over a skeptical older child, or knowing when we already have the photograph. That experience is especially valuable in a Mini Session, where preparation and confident direction allow us to make the most of every minute together.
