REFINED PORTRAITS THAT PRESERVE THE PERSONALITIES, RELATIONSHIPS, AND CONNECTION THAT DEFINE YOUR FAMILY NOW.
Your family does not stop changing when the traditional milestones become fewer. Children grow more fully into themselves, sibling relationships evolve, and the rhythm of your life together takes on new shapes.
These portraits preserve more than what everyone looked like. They remember the personalities emerging, the ways you make one another laugh, and the relationships that define your family now. They also place you within the story, so you can remember yourself in these years with the same tenderness you bring to everyone else.
Through refined portraits and honest, unguarded interaction, I create a fuller record of who you are together. No formal milestone is necessary. This version of your family is reason enough.
what we can create
Begin with the chapter or celebration you want to remember. Select a pathway above to discover what we can create together. Family Portraits continues into the Signature Portrait Session below, while Maternity, Newborn, Graduation, and Parties lead to guidance shaped around each distinct experience.
NINETY MINUTES GIVES US THE FREEDOM TO SHAPE THE SESSION AROUND THE PEOPLE, RELATIONSHIPS, AND MOMENTS THAT MATTER MOST TO YOU.
A Signature Portrait Session is a 1.5-hour experience creatively planned around your family, your relationships, and the season you want to remember.
We begin with the polished portrait you want to frame, then create space for each child’s personality, sibling relationships, parent-and-child connections, and the candid moments that unfold between them.
Ninety minutes allows everyone to settle in. We can explore the setting, create a variety of groupings, and follow the unexpected moments that reveal how your family naturally moves together.
Designed for immediate families, extended families, older children, and ordinary life updates, each session creates more than a larger gallery. It creates a fuller portrait of who you are to one another.
Introducing the
Allow conversation, play, exploration, and the unguarded interactions that reveal how your family naturally belongs together.
Create portraits that recognize each person on their own and preserve who they are becoming.
Make space for the connections you especially want to remember, from siblings and parent-child portraits to grandparents and couples.
A thoughtfully composed family portrait created to be framed, displayed, and returned to for years.
Ninety minutes gives a portrait session room to breathe: time for children, teens or pets to settle into themselves, for us to move thoughtfully through a place, and for natural expression, shifting light, and unexpected inspiration to shape what we create.
Remember the gestures, expressions, favorite objects, and small physical details particular to this season.
Use the time to explore the setting, develop an editorial concept, or create something shaped by your family’s interests and imagination.
The strongest photographs begin with understanding the people in front of the camera. I'd love to learn more about your wedding, what matters most to you, and how we can create photographs that feel personal from the very beginning.
I'd love to hear what you're envisioning.

Location
& Story
01
Location Shapes the Portrait
Some places already belong to your family. Whether it is a favorite coastline, a destination you return to each year, or somewhere chosen simply for its beauty, your session can preserve both the people you love and the place where this chapter unfolded.
Afterward, I can help you select photographs for albums and framed artwork designed for your home, considering scale, placement, and how each piece may grow into a larger family collection.
made to live with
Your finished gallery will bring together the composed portraits, candid interactions, individual personalities, and meaningful details that tell a fuller story of your family.
your photographs
I’ll guide the polished portraits, then create room for movement, conversation, and natural expression. Ninety minutes allows everyone to settle in while we follow the light, the setting, and the moments that unfold.
your session
You’ll receive wardrobe guidance, mood boards, shoppable suggestions, and access to the client closet. I’ll help create a cohesive look that complements the setting without making your family feel overly matched.
style with intention
Together, we’ll choose a setting, pace, and creative direction suited to your family. The plan will account for your children’s ages, personalities, schedules, and the relationships you most want photographed.
shape the session
We’ll begin with the people, relationships, and season you want to remember. Tell me what you are envisioning, what feels most like your family, and where you hope these photographs will live.

Common Concerns
Next
Cooperation looks different at every age. With young children, I begin with the polished, camera-facing portrait while their attention is fresh, then move with their energy as they grow more comfortable. What feels chaotic in the moment often becomes the most tender image: a child running back with a flower or offering you a seashell.
With teenagers, I invite them into the creative process, including sharing inspiration or celebrity portraits they love. Building that trust helps me create photographs that feel compelling to them, alongside the natural smile at the camera you were hoping for.
What if our children or teenagers will not cooperate?

The Concern:
Next
If you are drawn to this work, I will help you create it for your own family. We begin by talking through your vision, then I’ll create a mood board and guide you toward clothing and a location that bring that vision to life.
From there, I bring everything together through light, composition, and thoughtful direction, while leaving room for your family’s natural personality and connection. The result feels elevated because every element has been considered, but looks unmistakably like your family.
Our family would never look that polished.

The Concern:
Next
You do not need to arrive with the perfect location in mind. We will talk through how you want the photographs to feel, how your family naturally spends time together, and whether you are drawn to architecture, open landscapes, the waterfront, or somewhere more intimate.
From there, I will recommend settings that support your vision and work beautifully for the season, light, and people involved. The right location should do more than provide a backdrop. It should give your family room to interact and help shape the photographs we create there.
We have no idea where to hold our session.

The Concern:
Next
You will not need to coordinate your family’s wardrobe alone. I’ll create a mood board tailored to your vision and location, offer shoppable recommendations, and help you build from pieces you already own or borrow from the client closet.
Rather than matching everyone, we’ll consider color, texture, movement, and how each person’s clothing works within the full composition. The result will feel cohesive and intentional while still allowing everyone to look like themselves.
We don’t know what everyone should wear.

ou do not need to know how to pose or create a natural moment on cue. I’ll guide you clearly through the composed portraits, making small adjustments to posture, hands, and expression so everyone knows what to do without feeling overly arranged.
From there, conversation and movement allow you to focus less on the camera and more on one another. The most natural photographs are rarely accidental. They come from thoughtful direction that creates space for genuine expression.
We always feel awkward in front of the camera.

Seasonal Mini Sessions offer a simple, polished way to update your family portraits. Each event is thoughtfully planned around a specific setting, time of year, and visual direction, so the location and experience are already in place.
These shorter sessions are ideal for holiday cards, annual photographs, and a small collection of refined family portraits. Dates are released in limited seasonal offerings throughout the year, including cherry blossoms, lavender, fall, and Christmas trees.
Every family is different, and your session should reflect that. Ninety minutes gives us time to work thoughtfully through a setting, create a range of refined portraits, and leave room for the personalities, relationships, and unexpected moments that make the gallery distinctly your own.
Absolutely. These photographs are meant to be displayed, held, and viewed, not left unseen on a screen. Explore the Heirlooms page to discover custom albums and framed artwork created for your home.
Can you help us create albums or framed artwork?
Your fully edited gallery will be delivered within four weeks of your session. You’ll be able to download, share, and select your favorite photographs directly from the online gallery.
When will we receive our photographs?
Absolutely. My sessions are time-based, so there is no additional fee per person. We’ll discuss your priorities and the family groupings we can thoughtfully accomplish within your 90-minute session.
Can extended family participate?
Your session includes one complimentary weather reschedule. If changing the date is not possible, we can pivot to an indoor or covered location that still supports the vision for your photographs.
What happens if it rains?
I photograph throughout Maryland, Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and destinations along the East Coast. Eighty miles of travel are included, with custom travel arrangements available for locations farther away.
Where do you photograph family sessions?
Most family sessions can be planned with about one month’s notice. For larger milestones, travel, or popular dates from September through December, I recommend reaching out earlier so we have time to coordinate every detail.
How far in advance should we inquire with you?
