Christmas wedding at The BASILICA of Saint Mary in Old TOwn Alexandria

Rachael and Tommy were ships passing in the night. He was leaving Afghanistan and she was just starting her tour. He gave her his number in case she had questions. They became friends and pen pals, waiting two years to have their first date at the Torpedo Factory in Old Town Alexandria Virginia. Which is why a few years after that, they said their wedding vows at the Basilica of Saint Mary, the first week of the new year and danced the night away at the same Torpedo Factory. Their winter Virginia wedding had  subtle nods to their Naval service, including Rachael's officer's sword.
