Regardless of the season that you're in, and whether your babies are big, small or furry, this time in your life deserves to be captured by something other than your iPhone. All too often I hear that someone in the family takes on the role of photographer and winds up being left out the images. It's time to put yourself back in the photo.
We love creating photos to remind families that in spite of the fact that the car of their floor is covered in cereal, their laundry room looks like an episode of hoarders and mom and dad are in a permanent state of exhaustion, their love and their story are beautiful.
So let's plan a day, pick a location that is meaningful to you and create a slew of images that will fill up the frames your walls for years to come.
Christine, Max & baby Cordellia
Silver Orchard Creative did my maternity photos and my newborn photos. I was beyond happy with the photos and her professionalism. She made me and my husband feel very comfortable and was able to direct us extremely well.
I look back at these photos and see a side to pregnancy that I didn't feel while being pregnant. I felt beautiful.
Nora, JR & baby James
She is a talented photographer and an easy person to work with. She was calm and patient with our newborn and dog, she kept us all happy and made the experience stress free. She never rushed us and coached us when needed. The final product was better than we imaged and we can't wait to work with her again.
We absolutely recommend Christine from Silver Orchard Creative!
MALIK & Amanda
Christine exceeded my expectations, completely blew them out of the water. The pictures came out amazing. Her whole set up was flawless. She is very personable and made the process a lot less stressful. I would recommend her to anyone.
Christine is the real deal!

From Christine Jubinski
"I'm so happy Christine (photographer) suggested we go into the water- it turned out so amazing. I look back at these photos and see a side to pregnancy that I didn't feel while being pregnant. They make me feel ok with having a second baby. It was rough but there were a few occasions like this photo session that made me feel beautiful."

Nora and JR live in the heart of Howard County Maryland and happily welcomed their first baby, James to the family home and the family farm! James doesn't know it yet but that little toy tractor on his dresser isn't the only John Deer he'll get to play with.
Maddie, Sam and Sean's almost two year-old daughter is so excited to be a big sister. She greeted me at the door, invited me to play with her dolls and told me all about her new baby brother Alex.
Double the Moms means double the beauty! Emily and Erika picked a stunning Spring day for their Maternity session. For the location, they wanted something nature but with classic architecture- we settled on a special place that is meaningful to them both; the college campus where they met. The campus had multiple old buildings that were perfect for what they were looking for plus was meaningful to their story.

Rhoni celebrated her first mother's day in a very special way- with the first professional portraits of her new baby. To make it extra special she invited her own parents to join her and husband Jeremy. This is an excellent way to get photos of grandparents with their first grandchild! Also a fun way to start a family tradition.
No party is sweeter than a baby shower! Excellent themes, soft pastels, onesies, and the excitement of a little life on the way. While you're staying present in the moment with your family, let me capture the details for you to remember!
You know that moment when you see a beautiful place on vacation and you try to lock that memory in forever, to make it last but all you can do is take a cell phone photo that doesn't really capture the magic. Let me capture it for you. You deserve to see yourself in the vacation photos, hair blowing in the breeze, playing with your kids, a kiss from your spouse. I'll take care of the memory part- you live in the moment.

When you are 7 months pregnant and it's late August, you have to do sunflowers! They are cheerful flowers, and feel so perfect for welcoming a new baby to the world!
Alex & Azad
No one wants to look like a wet dog in their photos so if it looks like it's going to rain, snow, hail or some other weather catastrophe, we'll be in touch via email or phone to reschedule.
We can also do a home session. Safe from the elements in your home, we can do a really personal session that really speaks to your every day story.
I only take family sessions 6 months in advance with 2-4 months being the recommendation. Go earlier if you want a really specific date because you're timing cherry bloosoms or levaves. Need holiday card images? Those MUST be completed before Thanksgiving- book no later than September.
To reserve your date, we'll need a contract as well as a deposit. And if something comes up and you need to change your date, just let us know!
Start with a pallet. Neutrals of cream, tan, blues are classic. Layers add texture. Make sure some people wear solids while others wear patterns so everyone stands out on their own without clashing.
Need more help? I have tons of sessions to inspire you and I'm happy to do a video call with you to narrow down options.
Everyone feels awkward in front of the camera. Heck, I take photos for a living and I even feel like a deer in the headlights when I'm in front of the camera.
As the session goes on and I coach you through images, get you busy with a game of "who has the smelliest feet" you'll find that being photographed can actually be fun. And don't worry about your kids, their wild energy is exactly what we are trying to capture- no need to look at the camera.
Within a few weeks of your session, you'll receive a link to a digital gallery that will allow you to download high resolution images.
The gallery is also set up to make ordering prints, canvases and other keepsakes as easy as turning on a Roomba to clean your floors. No worrying about tricky things like color correction, DPI and image format.
Your venue has the greatest impact on your images. Learn what to look for!
